3. Props

Props

Only a small amount of props were used for my thriller task. This consisted of:
  • A Knife
  • A Football
  • Two Backpacks
  • Water Bottle
The knife will be used at the beginning of the thriller opening sequence to really set the scene for the entire thriller. The knife also conveys the feeling of something bad as happened such as murder. As well as this the knife creates suspense which is a convention of a thriller.

The football is going to be a prop as it will be used to represent the young teenage boys in the video. Football tends to be associated with the younger generation as being a sport that they do from time to time to pass time or a hobby. The football would also play a key role with the ball discovering the body when it goes out of control and lands next to the dead body which the boys later discover.

The backpacks will be used as a prop as it helps to represent young teenage boys. Backpacks tend to be associated with school therefore representing the boys as being not very old. The backpacks will also be used as the story line as they will be set down as goal posts for the boys to then play football.

A water bottle will be used to convey the story line with the boys going out to play football hence the water bottle. The water bottle also adds to the whole atmosphere of the thriller with music being played throughout the process of filling the bottle as well as straight cuts being made to a black screen to also create some mild suspense.
